What is CeRA?

Consortium for e-Resources in Agriculture (CeRA) has been established under the NAIP for providing online access to e-journals and resources in over 120 ICAR libraries. Objective is to expand the existing R & D information resource base of ICAR Institutions/Universities, etc., comparable to world leading institutions/organizations, and nucleate e-access culture among scientists/teachers in ICAR Institutes / Agricultural Universities.

What is the procedure to access the CeRA Site ?

To access JCCC@CeRA, use the URL: http://cera.jccc.in In case you are prompted for an Username and Password, it means that your system is not IP authenticated. In such a case, please send the Static IP address of your institute/University to cera.usi@iari.res.in

Which are the Publishers included in CeRA ?

Main publishers included in CeRA are:

What are the journals available in CeRA?

Most of the agriculture related journals from selected publishers are available in CeRA. At present, more than 2900 journals are accessible and the list can be viewed from the journal list.

Explain 'Admin' ?

Through the ‘Admin’ link, the Librarian of concerned institution can access this module by providing the unique Username and Password to fulfill Document Delivery Request (DDR) received from other Institutes/Universities. More details about the module are provided upon accessing Administration Module.

What is 'Request the Article' (RA) ?

‘Request the Article’ link is meant for providing a particular article of a journal which is not subscribed by CeRA under the Consortia, but available in the library of an institution. Such Articles can be obtained through Document Delivery Request (DDR) for which the DDR form has to be filled up by the users.

Why CeRA is not accessible outside the campus or at home?

All resources subscribed through CeRA are IP authenticated. Full Text access to articles is retrievable only within the campus of the Institute/University connected internally by LAN. Hence, outside the campus access only upto Abstracts level can be obtained.

How to become a member of CeRA ?

An individual researcher cannot join as a member of CeRA. CeRA is for an institution in NARS. Hence any researcher desiring to access resources through CeRA, is requested to contact the concerned librarian. This is applicable for all regional centre/colleges of the main campus of an Institute/University.

Can you conduct a workshop in our institute ?

Yes, it is possible, however not exclusively for one institution. As per M&E committee of CeRA, trainings/workshops on e-resources can be conducted at a location in which scientist/teachers from adjoining CeRA members can also participate.
